What we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information.

Last updated: 23 July 2026 · Written by the Melinas Mom editorial team · Fact-checked

This Privacy Policy explains how Melinas Mom ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit melinasmom.com. We are an information and comparison website; we do not knowingly process the sensitive financial or gambling-account data that belongs to operators. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Analytics data: pages you view, approximate location (from IP), device and browser type, referring site, and how you navigate the Site. This is usually aggregated and used to improve our content.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: including essential, analytics and affiliate-tracking cookies. See our cookie policy for details.
  • Contact-form data: if you message us, we collect your name, email address and the content of your message so we can reply.

We do not ask for, or intentionally collect, financial account numbers or gambling-account credentials.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate and improve the Site, respond to your enquiries, understand which content is useful, measure the performance of affiliate links, keep the Site secure and prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Third parties and affiliate networks

We share limited data with service providers that help us run the Site, including analytics providers and affiliate networks. When you click an affiliate link, the operator and/or affiliate network may set a cookie or receive a referral identifier so a commission can be attributed to us. These third parties process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information for money. Some sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising may qualify as a "sale" or "share" under California law — see your rights below and use our opt-out.

Data retention

We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterward. Analytics data is retained in aggregate or for the period set by our analytics provider. We delete or anonymize personal data when it is no longer needed for the purposes described here.

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including SSL/TLS encryption, to protect information in our care. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

This Site is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose and share.
  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete personal information we have collected, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

To opt out, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information request, or disable analytics and advertising cookies as described in our cookie policy. To make any CCPA/CPRA request, email privacy@melinasmom.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by law.

Your rights if you are in the EU/UK (GDPR-style rights)

Although we target US readers, if you access the Site from the EU, EEA or UK you may have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Where we rely on a legal basis, it is typically your consent (for non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (to run and improve the Site), or compliance with a legal obligation. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email privacy@melinasmom.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
